How much does it cost to hire an Interior Designer?
It’s a question on everybody’s mind as they are searching online for a designer. Here are a few Q&A’s that just might help.
The average hourly rate for an interior designers varies between $75-$300/hour. You would pay this in addition to the cost of furniture, accessories, artwork, etc. Some interior designers charge their clients by “marking up” the items they provide to their clients. For example, you may agree to pay a 15-50 percent markup fee to your interior designer on all goods purchased. Keep in mind, like everything else, you get what you pay for! Ask lots of questions and compare your notes after you speak with several designers so you are able to make a decision that best fits your needs and budget.
Most designers collect an up front deposit to secure your project on your schedule. This fee is is typically the cost of around 10-20 hours of design time.
We recommend one of our eDesign packages. eDesign packages are designed so that you do some of the work and the designer doesn’t have to spend time coming out to measure and documenting your space or oversee the installation of your project. Instead you provide existing photos, a floorplan, measurements, a budget, and your goals and we provide you with a DIY plan of action and a list of materials and selections for you to run with. This process is very quick and budget friendly. Though we don’t have a specific page on our website just yet….coming 6/1/19…we would be happy to answer any questions via email in the meantime.
