The plan was to paint on the beach, but nature had different plans for this artistic bunch! After watching the radar we made a decision to paint on the veranda of a local Sarasota Airbnb. Ironically enough the Oregonians were staying at the home of local conservator Thomas Koether on Hudson Bayou.
Each family member had their own artistic agenda for the afternoon! Mom wanted to create a Sarasota inspired beach seen, Dad wanted to learn to capture the light of the mountains, and Grant, the teenage son, was hoping to learn to paint abstractly. He was envisioning a wave crashing over a rock.
We started with a few basics on color mixing and then jumped right in to paints on the canvas. All in all I think everyone was pleased with the final art they created. It’s always good to be reminded we can’t become Picasso or Matisse in 2 hours but we can have a finished piece that will be a launching point of our artistic expressions and a memory of a lifetime
This was an amazing experience. I didn’t need any experience just brought myself and a friend. Keffie provided all the supplies and instruction. This was a relaxing experience on the beach and we created really great art pieces that we will be hanging on our wall. It was beachside in the shade. Keffie is really easygoing and complimentary on any art style you decide. I highly recommend this experience!!
