“I talked him into refinishing the stained maple cabinets with a black lacquer finish,” said Bonnie. “Talk about drama. We also raised the height of the cabinets and we were able to keep the original granite which really pops now against the cabinetry and the black center island.

The designers repurposed some of Bill’s furniture, added a few pieces and found places for all his art. The porcelain floor tiles are original to the home and influenced the choice of paint color for the walls, which are a warm bisque. They replaced all the drapes but kept the wooden blinds in the study, where they also introduced wallpaper. In the baths, they added wallpaper and custom fabrics.
